Martha Bolton has written over eighty books of humor and inspiration, including the popular Didn't My Skin Used to Fit and Cooking With Hot Flashes. She was a staff writer for Bob Hope for over fifteen years, and also wrote for numerous others including Phyllis Diller, Ann Jillian, John Davidson, Mark Lowry, Jeff Allen, and now most recently, presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. Martha also helped write the New York Times bestselling Rick and Bubba books, Rick and Bubba's Expert Guide to God, Country, Family...and Anything Else We Can Think Of and The Rick and Bubba Code. The most recent Rick and Bubba book, Rick and Bubba’s Guide to the Almost Nearly Perfect Marriage, rocketed to #5 on Amazon (out of 9 million books). A popular speaker at retreats, banquets and writing conferences, Martha was a keynote speaker at the 2008 Erma Bombeck Writer's Conference, along with Garrison Keillor. translated into Dutch and Hebrew. |
Martha has received both an Emmy nomination and a Dove award nomination for her writing, and has won four Angel awards and a Writer's Guild Award. Martha wrote the popular Cafeteria Lady column for Focus on the Family's BRIO magazine for more than a dozen years, and currently writes the Miss P.E. column for BRIO. Her work has appeared in Reader's Digest, Christian Herald, The Evangel, Breakaway, A Better Tomorrow, various Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and numerous other publications. She has been interviewed by dozens of periodicals and newspapers including the Los Angeles Times, and she did a phone interview on Fox News following Bob Hope's passing. Martha is married to Russ Bolton (whom she met at church when she was 15 and he was 19 and they married 3 1/2 years later.) Russ is a retired Los Angeles Police Sergeant, and currently is Chief of Security at Cheekwood Art Museum in Nashville, TN. They have three sons and six grandchildren.
